Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy, or MeRT®, is a leading-edge technology that focuses on treating specific areas of the brain with magnetic stimulation. This treatment is non-invasive and drug-free. MeRT® is FDA-cleared to treat Major Depressive Disorder and OCD and used off-label to treat many other conditions such as Autism, ADHD, anxiety, sleep disorders, Traumatic Brain Injuries and more with great success. What makes MeRT® unique is its highly personalized approach, tailored to each individual through advanced diagnostic tools. Since every brain is different, each treatment is customized to meet the specific needs of the individual. MeRT® first starts off with a 10-minute, eyes closed, EEG and EKG recording. This scan is non-invasive and performed in a dimly-lit, quiet room. Next, our analysis and protocol development process begins. The software, patented by Wave Neuroscience, generates personalized reports that are carefully reviewed by our physician. A consultation will then be scheduled, during which our physician will review the results with you and advise if MeRT® treatment is a suitable option for you. After being cleared by our physician, treatment sessions involve the application of gentle magnetic pulses to targeted areas of the brain. Treatment is conducted daily, Monday through Friday, and typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks, depending on each patient’s unique needs. Every two weeks, a follow-up EEG and consultation are performed to assess progress and evaluate how your brain is responding to the therapy.
The process begins with a comprehensive evaluation, including a EEG (quantitative electroencephalogram) and EKG. These tests help assess brainwave activity and identify areas of dysregulation. Additionally, a clinical consultation is conducted to understand symptoms and medical history.
Our team analyzes the EEG and EKG results to develop a personalized MeRT® treatment protocol. By identifying specific brainwave patterns, we tailor a plan designed to optimize brain function and improve symptoms.
During each MeRT® session, gentle magnetic pulses are applied to targeted areas of the brain based on the customized protocol. These sessions are non-invasive and painless, typically lasting around 30 minutes to 45 minutes. Treatment is delivered over multiple sessions for cumulative effects.
Progress is monitored through follow-up EEGs and clinical assessments. Adjustments to the treatment protocol may be made to ensure optimal results. Patients often report improvements in mood, focus, sleep, and overall well-being as treatment progresses.
